Stress Relief
With Spinal Awareness, the muscles of our body relax, our breath becomes easier, and our skeleton's ease of movement increases.. we can begin to balance the negative effects of stress. The movement, touch and group experiences of Spinal Awareness are nourishing and fun.
Shoulder Pain
Difficulties with shoulder pain need to be considered in reference to the spine. If the vertebrae of the upper spine are twisted, or compressed together, pain can reflect in the shoulder.
Carpal Tunnel Pain
With Spinal and Skeletal Awareness, we learn that the problems in the wrist are reflected in tightness in the shoulders, stiffness in the whole spine, tension in the hips, holding in the chest and throughout the entire self.

Sensitivity Through Group Lessons
Spinal Awareness classes are a group experience. In the movement parts of the techniques, partner lessons expand the awareness and sensitivities of each participant. People are given many opportunities to meet in small groups and share their reactions to the Spinal Awareness sessions. The touch, hands-on sessions greatly increase the effectiveness of this teaching. Each person is given the opportunity to connect deeper with themselves and others.

Spinal Awareness is not just about teaching the theories, movements, and techniques used to allow change and improvement. A safe field is encouraged and created within the group which supports learning, freedom of movement, and healing. Spinal Awareness is taught with the understanding that many people sign-up not only for the particular class but to meet and experience new people. Individual and group interaction is at the core of Spinal Awareness.
