Remember Your Bones
If we become aware of our bones, we can find ways of moving to reduce tension and stress. With continued use of the techniques taught in Spinal Awareness programs even long-term pain conditions begin to diminish and often heal.
Lower Back Pain
In the mind's eye of the average person, there is little or no Spinal Awareness of this region. The movement, partner, and touch lessons experienced in Spinal Awareness programs help you learn how to use yourself in new ways that improve the condition of your lower back.
Shoulder Pain
Difficulties with shoulder pain need to be considered in reference to the spine. If the vertebrae of the upper spine are twisted, or compressed together, pain can reflect in the shoulder.

Yoga Pain, Yoga Stiffness: Sense Your Bones!

Yoga, as in any athletic activity, provides an opportunity for restriction and injury as well as its known health advantages.

By using the insights gained from Spinal Awareness and Skeletal Awareness you will learn how to view your limitations in Yoga not just as problems in the muscles, but difficulties arising from you not thinking about what your bones are doing in each position.

Spinal Awareness gives a new insight into how our bodies organize themselves to do any movement. Awareness is emphasized as a new way of using ourselves is experienced. Your yoga will usually become much easier and more precise as Skeletal Awareness improves your sense of what it is that you are doing in each yoga position.

Injuries will improve as the movement, touch and group techniques of Spinal Awareness remind our bodies of how to return to health and function. You will gain new tools to allow yourself to be more a part of your own healing process.
